Not available for many decades until now, this 1964 album is a real lost gem. It features the smokey vocals of Helen Merrill, backed by the guitar stylings of legendary players Charlie Byrd and Jimmy Rainey. Also the fine drumming of Osie Johnson, and other music notables like Keter Betts and Jimmy Giuffre in the mix. Mostly in the English language, Merrill also sings in several foreign languages on the album, including Japanese, Italian, Portuguese. If you like smooth vocals, and an album that will set a very romantic mood for that special evening, this CD is for you.
