Helen has been playing and singing in theatrical and folk ensembles all her life. An accomplished pianist hailing from a small town in Maryland, she headed north to study ballet and big-city living. Helen was the cofounder and director of The City Singers, an a capella choir (featured on Blues Traveler's SAVE YOUR SOUL) for which she and producing partner Vito Abate wrote and mounted more than 15 shows, most notably, Christmas Theater I - X. Now at home in New York City, she is a member and manager of The Seat of the Pants Band with David Lutken, performs with Jane Gillman (from Austin, Texas) and is active in guitar theater, both in the U.S. and abroad. HOLLY DAYS is Helen's first solo recording. 'Her voice, pure and supple, handed down through generations, recalls the rich and rolling piedmont of her native home.'
