Product Notes

The best rock and roll genres are those that take different musical stylings and effortlessly meld them together into a complete and satisfying experience. Human Sounds, hailing from Trenton, New Jersey, deliver just this with a velocity and integrity that keeps their sound fresh and electrifying. Combining interests such as funk, grunge, and the Delta blues, the overall vibe of the band is that of a sexual monster that has feelings, a dark side, and a notion of where it wants to go. Funk and rock prevail as each of their songs unfolds in a groovy flood of sounds, while the lyrics settle in with a dark overtone and bluesy fervor. Human Sounds is comprised of Rob Ealer on guitar, Brian Corbett on bass and vocals, Pat Mooney on drums, and George Szczepanski on lead vocals and additional percussion. The four members have only been playing together as a whole since November 2007, but the roots of the band began in early 2006 with Corbett and Ealer, who boast very different musical styles. Corbett, a slap bass player with major funk influences, easily forged a musical connection with Ealer's heavy guitar tones and penchant for grunge rock. The search for a drummer ended in the fall, when Pat Mooney, bringing a background of funk and groove percussion, began sitting in on routine jam sessions, adding another dimension to their developing sound. In the spring of 2007, a handful of penned songs were recorded in Ealer's basement. The demo showcased some of the varying sounds that each member infused into their passionate songwriting. The missing link, a vocalist, was added in a very unlikely way in the early summer of 2007, as the demo fell into the hands of George Szczepanski, a longtime friend of Ealer's who was spending his summer days in the southwestern desert. The hot Arizona sun and the dry heat of the desert birthed lyrics of stressful abandon and isolation-a superb juxtaposition to the hard rock and funk infused music. His sense for the blues and howling croon were welcome additions and the final ingredients to complete Human Sounds as a unique rock act. Now playing a number of shows around the Delaware Valley, Humans Sounds has just released their self-produced, debut full-length record Headphone Graffiti. Songs from the demo, like the blistering "Bluesy Floozy" and "Cowboys of Funk" return, alongside new tracks such as the space funk journey "Stumbling in Venezuela" and the somber melody of "Grace". The band's musical diversity has grown exponentially since it's genesis, but biting guitar riffs, punchy, intricate bass lines, and a funky rhythmic backbone remain. Human Sounds is ready to expand minds and bring their amalgam rock to the world of music. Contact/Booking: humansounds@gmail.com.
