Invention was created as a reaction to a lack of creatively enticing music in the world as it stands today. In the midst of musical genericicity, that of thousands of emo, screamo, hardcore and pop groups, most of which looking to resurrect an exact copy of a genre from the past and pass it off as their own, the three boys of Invention vowed to make the newest, most tremendous sound imaginable and do so unapologetically. Under Invention standards, why build a shack when you can make a building that is ten thousand feet tall. As is usually the case, Kellen, Dustin, and Kevin came out of the ashes of separate bands to create something better. Each boy quickly discovered that they had tapped into something incredibly powerful. Every live performance yielded new members of the Invention world, people who knew that they had just witnessed something special, something important. Even with only a few shows under their belt, the boys had begun to create a stir in the Northwest, and people even as far as the east coast were discovering their new favorite band. Having been an official band for not even a full year, Invention is just getting started. They have been reaching for every opportunity to branch out to new fans, taking their tremendously energetic live show all over the Seattle area to places such as the L.A.B., Studio Seven, and El Corazon and spanning around the surrounding areas as far as Bellingham. They have been getting local radio play and catching new fans one at a time if they have to. The boys of Invention feel more responsibility than fun in their music; they feel a responsibility to get their music to anyone who will listen, and to share their view of the world with anyone with an open mind. There is no place they will ever stop. Period.
