The Rane Brothers, Ivan and Randy, have been producing albums for the last twenty years, mostly in the California Bay area. The sons of a very musical Guatemalan mother and renowned Taos painter Bill Rane, the lads have worked on the hard stages of bars and nightclubs, with some dives along the way, but always with a love of melody and harmony and passion for the nylon string guitar. Their music has always had a jazzy feel with a strong latino influence. The last few years the boys escaped the madness of California and the isolation of Hawaii to come to the high desert of New Mexico to perfect their sound. These last few years have been good to The Rane Brothers, they have won Best Pop CD 2007 and Best Latino Contemporary honors 2008 at the New Mexico Music Awards. The CD 'Blame' is one of their strongest efforts to date, including the efforts of pianist and organist Doug Frantz of Santa Fe, Billy Tapia of Los Ranchitos on drums and David McCreary of Albuquerque on bass.
