This CD is dedicated to my granddaugther Reagan, my Goddaughter Zoie, and all the little children of the world. I felt so happy and blessed when my daughter, Cynthia, took efforts to make sure Reagan was born on my birthday and presented her to me as my gift, and so honored and surprised that Zoie's parents chose me to be their child's Godfather.I was privileged to be in the delivery room when Zoie came into this world.Looking at her I was very emotional. It was like she was saying " I have arrived, now, give me love, protection, knowledge and direction, I Am Here." 'Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is such as these that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs.' ' Matthew 19:14. As such, I've chosen each song on this CD to have meaning for all the little children of the world. The Spirit convicts me to believe that as parents to these beautiful responsibilities that God has blessed us with, that we teach them the importance of worshipping God and saying, 'THE LORD'S PRAYER' each and every night before going to bed. 'OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD. AND FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES, AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US. AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY, FOR EVER AND EVER. AMEN' Back in the 50's, celebrated saxophonist J.J. Jones (Jesse James Jones) often recorded under his own name, but like many great musicians Jones gained his reputation as a sideman. Working with some of the best pop singers of the day including, Sam Cooke, B.B King, Big Joe Turner, Lou Rawls, Barry White, and Chuck Willis to name a few, Jones was considered to be one of the most influential saxophone players of the day. He remembers back in 1953 when he had to calm down an anxious blues singer by the name of B.B. King making his debut in Atlanta. Working professionally at the age of 17 playing with various stage show bands on the 'Chittlin Circuit,' Jones came to prominence in the 50's amidst a plethora of great horn players like Eddie Harris, Sonny Stitt, Gene Ammons, Wynton Kelly, Earl Bostic, Sil Austin, and Julian 'Cannonball' Adderley. Jones led the great Jimmy Witherspoon band, and got to play along side Ornette Coleman one night, and back up superstar singers the next. He worked with such Little Richard, Billy Wright, Willie Mae, and 'Big Mama' Thornton among many others.
