James Jones was born in Tupelo, MS, but raised in Guntown, MS a small town north of Tupelo. His musical interest was evident at the age of two when he started singing and playing drums. After growing up admiring and imitating such artist as Marvin Gaye and Al Green he discovered his passion for gospel music. He started his music ministry in 1990 and released his first single in 1991 entitled "Livin It Up In Jesus" which featured his acapella vocal works in which he calls Co-Trip. Co-Trip is his acapella style, which means contemporary and traditional mixed. This style is one that he makes all the instrument sounds with his mouth and then goes back and sings the verses. Testimony I remember on Tuesday night at a prayer service in Baldwyn, MS at Full Gospel Deliverance Church. I was caught up in a lot of things none of which were good things to be exact. But on that night God spoke to me in the spirit go to the altar. I was so tired of the way I was living and the results I was getting. So I asked God to save me. Since that day I went from an R&B singer in clubs to a Gospel messenger, both pastor and singer. I am a blessed and a privileged Pastor of Dominion and Power Ministries, Tupelo, MS. I thank God for my lovely wife, Catresia, my wonderful children, Mantle, Kareem, Quintasia, Jamarius, Jairus, Jamon, and my church members. Thank you for buying my CD. May God's riches, blessing be upon you. James E. Jones.
