To call James Gordon Williams a brilliant young jazz pianist and composer would betoo limiting. His work may rely heavily on the so-called 'jazz' idiom, but that word is just too small to contain all the music Mr. Williams creates. He has studied and absorbed forms of secular and sacred music from around the globe, and his relentless search for new sounds, new ways to make his piano sing, never ceases.
