Jane's career in music began at an early age. Her parents noticed how easily she played simple tunes and put her into lessons at age five. At age ten she accompanied the school choir and pursued this until her senior year. She received the Chopin Award upon graduation and continued her studies at Duquesne University, in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During her years at Duquesne, she bacame the principle accompanist for graduate students and again, the university choir. Her piano instructor recommended that she continue her studies as an accompanist. Jane chose to marry and move to London, Ontario, where she has resided for many years. She raised her four young children alone following a brief marriage. It was this turning point that deepened her love for music. She became a music instructor and performer. Within a short time she was well known in Southern Ontario and was soon in demand to perform background music for a variety of venues. During many of these performances, she would play as she quotes, ' from within '. Most of her compositions initially are defined only by number. On this album the three which actually were written for real people in real time are 'Helen's Theme', for her Mother, 'Yoya', for a dear friend, and 'A Song for Meredith', her only daughter, one of her four inspirations. Jane's studies of the classical composers, both through performing and readings, have given her much insight into her 'gift of music'. Her distinctive style of writing is enchanting and uplifting. This debut album will be a choice you will enjoy over and over.
