Product Notes

Jason would like to thank the following people: (fill your name in here) _____________. This project started several years ago. Some were recorded while I was still in college as demo projects, but most were recorded in my home studio or at Mike Horner's studio (which has four walls in it). Over the years I started gradually buying better equipment, it's obvious how some are better quality recordings than others. I would love to go back and remix some of them and just start over. However, time, money, kids, and life seem to always get in the way. So I just decided to put some of them on here as they are - some still as the original demos. I remember recording one of these songs when I didn't even own a microphone stand. I ended up putting a mic on a closet shelf, stood on a few phone books so I could reach it, and closed the closet door, which became a redneck vocal recording booth. On a couple of songs, I used a computer program using nothing but pre-recorded loops and never even picked up an instrument. Which takes a whole lot longer to do but probably worth it. I have spent the last several years of my life as a worship leader. This project is completely different from what I normally do on a weekly basis. Writing secular songs as opposed to Christian songs has been fun and challenging along the way - to remove myself from a situation and write from the perspective of someone else. It has pushed me as a songwriter and coincidentally ended up developing a lot of my faith of who I am. So much that for the most part, in my life, there is no differentiation between Christian and secular. Which is probably the way Jesus planned for me to live my life in the first place. Thanks for listening - Jason (or someone else) Recorded at: Ashwood Studios - Hueytown, AL, Woodbridge Studios - Anniston, AL, Arbor Studios - Sugar Hill, GA, Four Walls Studios - Greer, SC, TPMWH Studios - Hoschton, GA, Anderson University Studios - Anderson, IN.
