This album energetically probes the faces of empire. Pax Americana, the album and the reality, involves war, corporate power, political corruption, and public apathy. The emotional experience of these conditions is complex and may by turns elicit horror, mirth, fear, hope, despair, or joy. In creating Pax Americana, Jay Blagdon was inspired by the investigative work of Noam Chomsky and by the restive spirits of bands and musicians such as The Doors and John Cale. The album, with it's original music and eclectic spirit (along with it's handsome album art), constitutes a very absorbing experience.
