Lured away from a jazz bass career in the early 90's, Jay followed the call of the flute and hand drums. Having spent years learning to make these instruments he has begun to synthesize several distinct traditions into a unique blend. Jay has been exploring the modal and rhythmic systems of one tradition on the instruments of another, and is discovering a new landscape begging to be explored.
