She began her singing career at the age of 13, singing in area talent shows, with local groups, and travelling with the DC Showmobile. Years later, along with a new group, she won 1st place in the DC Talent Search at Constitution Hall, in Washington, DC. She would not realize this to be a problem until it had become too late...with the abuse of crack cocaine. Jeanette's husband prayed fervently for her "the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16). As a result of prayer and attending a drug ministry at her church, she became victorious, but not without a price. "Sin is pleasurable, for a season" (Heb. 11:25). Nevertheless, "what the devil meant for evil, God has turned it around for her good". "I know the thoughts I think towards you, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11).
