Product Notes

JFK & the Conspirators have been playing Reggae, Dubwise, Lover's Rock and Rocksteady since 1995. Over the past ten years, the Conspirators have become one of Canada's best reggae acts - staying true to their Studio One roots and inspirations. 'Mash up the Dance', released in 2004, is a wonderful collection of riddims that have been in JFK's head for many years. With twister-ska classics like 'Wa Da Da' to dancehall anthems like the title track, 'Mash up the Dance' is an amazing CD for roadtrips, parties, or making breakfast for you lover on Saturday mornings. Since being established in 1995, lead singer JFK (Dave Adams) has continually recruited Winnipeg's best Reggae and ska musicians. His search was for musicians that could perform Adams' style of traditional ska, roots Reggae, and studio one dancehall. JFK & the Conspirators proved successful with their 1997 Stomp Records release 'Mayor of Ganja City', following up that successful release with a tour across Canada, performing at many festivals and showcases. They even shared the stage with such acts as The Skatalites, The Slackers, The Kingpins, The Planet Smashers, Duo Tang, Bad Manners and The Selecter. In 1999, Adams left Winnipeg for a few years and found himself playing keyboards for Montreal legends The Kingpins. After recording The Kingpins' third full length album with them, Adams returned to Winnipeg where he found the right sound, the right players and the right time for JFK & the Conspirators to get back on track. This refreshed and revamped JFK & the Conspirators toured Canada from East to West, backing New York's legendary King Django on his Canadian tour, appeared at such festivals as the Victoria Ska Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, NXNE 2003, CMW 2004, Calgary's very first ReggaeFest in 2004, and had a huge western Canada tour to promote their second full-length album 'Mash Up The Dance'. Critics note that JFK's latest album breaks all stereotypes of Canadian ska and Reggae. 'Mash Up The Dance' gives listeners a taste of powerful dancehall rhythms to catchy Jamaican ska styles, proving itself as a history of Jamaican music. JFK & the Conspirators continue to feed the hunger for lovers of Reggae vibes and roots rhythms.
