Joaquines is a duo group, based in Brooklyn, New York. With over 10 years of experience in the music industry, as respected and influential artists, songwriters and producers. Joaquines are brothers, Danny aka Chulo D and Miguel aka Veneno Nolasco. Born in the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic who came to New York at the ages of eight and nine years old, and raised in the rough barrio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. Chulo D and Veneno underwent some tough times in the streets with the constant influences, temptations and threats that lingered in their lives. But these hard times only made them stronger and they realized that life in the hood was not what their struggling parents, who sometimes worked three to four jobs just to make ends meet, had in mind when they came to New York. Soon, they became self-supportive teenagers, turning to the streets, where they made a name for themselves as Latino rappers. Together they have a deep passion for music, drawn from diverse sources and influences such as Run DMC, El General, Jay Z, Illegales, Slick Rick, Johnny Ventura, Fernando Villalona, Maná and Tupac. And when they work and play or collaborate with other artists, it's so spontaneous and natural, delivering expressive lyrics, engaging hooks and passionate rhythms. Chulo D and Veneno are not new jacks trying to enter this industry, but seasoned performers and recording artists. Initially, they released singles on numerous complication albums. Then soon after, an independent label signed them to their first album deal with a group of four guys entitled, La Factoria Del Sabor aka Flava Factory, in the Merengue / Hip Hop music genre. The first single off the album was "Derecha Izquierda", which became an immediate hit, receiving airplay on New York's #1 Latin station WSKQ FM -La Mega and rave reviews in the Latin market. The second released single "Ven Conmigo" became a hit in Puerto Rico, and followed with the music video, which played on all the major music video TV shows. They attracted loads of fans, performed throughout the US and Latin America and built a strong fan base. However, soon after, the label went bankrupt. Instead of giving up, Chulo D and Veneno subsequently decided to make an untraditional decision to start their own label with minimal funds. That's when they formed, Joaquines, a trio at the time, and recorded an album entitled, Otro Planeta, 11 original tracks, with 10 tracks written by Joaquines and Ivan Heredia. Their debut single "Yo No Soy Superman", received much love from radio in the Dominican Republic, charting on the top 10 major stations lists including; Rumba FM, Ritmo 96, Kiss 95, Antena 100, KQ 94. The music video soon followed off the single (as well as touring) and played throughout numerous television shows in the United States and Latin America gathering thousands of fan's. Joaquines' energetic stage performance with live bands and their ability to free-style, had the fans screaming wild! Most recently, the brothers Chulo D and Veneno who formed Joaquines, decided to make the group a duo, so that they could express their mutual passion, energy and dedication to their musical career more effectively. So, they started to write again, carefully creating lyrics they felt their people would identify with, which encompassed their unique reggaeton style. In the new recorded album currently entitled "JOAQUINES... For Life"... Chulo D and Veneno teamed up and collaborated with a talented and prominent producing team called The Family aka Da Familia. Together they created 19 tracks, written by Joaquines and Da Familia. Each track has a different flavor that features guest artists with infectious pop hooks, combined with soulful vocals, trend-setting dance beats and smooth lyrics about survival, love, everyday social issues and their culture - bringing new original tracks to the urban Latino scene that is radio-ready pop songs. Joaquines is a group that will represent not just themselves, but the Latino community as a whole in this new and exciting music genre that has already changed the face of Latin music, Reggaeton. Their goal is to not just maintain and stay on top of the rap industry but to open doors for other artists, to continue to collaborate with various artists and to experiment with different musical genres. Recently, Joaquines formed a production company and would like one day to reach the likes of Jay-Z, Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Fat Joe, Missy Elliott, Master P and 50 Cent.
