Johnny Crocker was born in Greenville, Mississippi in the heart of the delta. He started playing guitar at the age of 14. Johnny moved to Jackson, MS when he was 20 years old and was a founding member of Sassy Jones, a regionally popular band. He then moved to Nashville honing his skills as a writer at several publishing companies. He also played guitar for several national acts.
