Karl Miles is not new to music-or songwriting. By the time he picked up the guitar at the age of 16, he had already taken trombone lessons for seven years and dabbled in both piano and voice; he had played in concert bands, marching bands, jazz bands and the youth orchestra. To learn the guitar, he wrote original songs, basing them off the chords and techniques he wanted to master. During undergrad, Karl pursued a bachelor degree in Trombone Performance at the Wheaton College Conservatory, but his main desire centered around the music he was creating with his guitar and voice. In the years since graduating, he has continued to mature in his craft while working in the construction trades to support himself. He has played at coffee houses such as Uncommon Ground and Café Ciao in Chicago-as well as for his friends and own enjoyment. Newly married, Karl has left the construction business (happy to have all ten fingers intact) and, with the backing of his wife, is taking steps toward a career oriented in music. He has always had the songs, the voice and the talent. Now he has the time and support. Let the music begin.
