From Wales, Katell Keineg first built her reputation in New York on the buzzing cafe scene around St Mark's Place and Sin-e. Following her first release on Bob Mould's SOL Records, she emerged into one of the most inspiring and deeply moving performers around, with Natalie Merchant and Iggy Pop numbering among her fans and collaborators. Produced by Eric Drew Feldman of Captain Beefheart and PJ Harvey fame, 'Jet', her second album for Elektra was named one of the best overlooked pop masterpieces of the decade by Esquire, while Keineg was recently tipped by The New York Times as 'a songwriter due for her own cult'.
