'Westgate' is sort of my journey back to the roots of what has brought me to where I am today, both musically and in life experiences. It's funky, fun, soulful and is very auto-biographical. It's themes are a lot about me appreciating life's gifts, about the uncontrollable paths of love. It has all real playing, real instruments; drums, bass, Hammond organ, Rhodes, horn sections, Stratocaster guitar, and soulfully sung vocals. It's infused with the same elements that influenced me musically over the years. Some people call it blue-eyed soul. The Eagles, Tower of Power, Van Morrison, AWB, Bad Company, Joe Walsh, Marvin Gaye, Temptations..all that stuff is in there. But, It is all original. Westgate has some great guest performances on it's 11 songs. I've assembled a fantastic 11 cuts on this album, and I'm happy to share them with you, to share a bit of my world.
