Kevin Scanlon Kevin Scanlon is a versatile artist, songwriter, and musician who lays his talent on a myriad of music genres. Over the years, Kevin has learned many traditional songs and tunes which led him into playing bluegrass and claw hammer banjo. He also plays guitar with a personally developed and unique finger picking style. It is common to see a harmonica resting on his chest while performing, which adds depth to his songs Kevin's songwriting is his main focus. His songs are in depth; they speak of his life and express his perspective. They can be soulful and even haunting. His voice is distinctive and has a sound that connects with his lyrics in a manner unlike most. Early influences including Pink Floyd and Neil Young can be heard in his music. While more recent influences, such as Tom Waits and Townes Van Zandt keep Kevin inspired and shape his music today. The history of music is very important to Kevin. He continues to perpetuate his knowledge so he can in turn, educate his audience.
