Product Notes

Dennis met Kim in Dennis' studio way back when Kim was 19. She was recording for the first time. The song was Amy Grant's "Love Will Find a Way". It was a decade later that Dennis and Kim got together, and made beautiful music together, both publicly and privately. After performing secular music around the world for hundreds of thousands of happy fans, the pair heard a distinct "whisper" and "constant tapping on their shoulders" to use their talents for a higher calling. They traded their cruise ship, night club, and concert stage experiences for two beautiful daughters and a music ministry. Utilizing their love of rock/blues/pop music, Kim and Dennis started writing songs extolling the wonderment, glory, and joy that their walk with Christ is taking them. Many seekers and non-Christians have become fans of this CD because of it's lack of "preaching" or "talking down to" non-Christians. Dennis plays all the instruments (saxophone by Randy Houston) and Kim and Dennis sing all the parts. The promo handout reads " This CD is a labor of love...For each other and for the Lord". Hands of God - is a pop tune that is hard to get out of your head. There are a lot of rock/pop homage references on this CD. Ex: Listen for the "My Sweet Lord" string line at the fade of this song. Live a Purpose Driven Life - is inspired by that book we all should have re-read by now. It's a funky, syncopated, charmer with the bridge referencing the first line of the book "It's not about You". The Night a Baby Came to Save the World - should become a new Christmas standard. It describes what it would feel like to be there at the birth of Christ. Delainey's Version - A three year old's attempt at The Lords' Prayer. The Child in Me - "Blackbird" meets "Butterfly Kisses". A dream of your daughter growing up, hoping she remembers how to still find that child-like wonderment after she's an adult. My Sweet Jesus - is Motown Funk in praise. We Are Blessed -Written in a Cleveland airport during a delay about looking at the bright side of life. The Gift - is 80's pop about gratitude for sacrifice. You Are Never Alone is hummable ballad reminding us that there is always help out there, no matter how alone we feel. Drivin' Down I-75 - written, performed, and recorded in a minivan on a trip from Michigan to Tennessee. Hence the country flavor. Brining Me Back Home -Southern Roots Gospel accapella Go to Sleep is a sweet lullaby, mother to baby, and how she will be there in the morning when the child wakes. Love, Joy, Peace...is a big funky anthem tune, kind of "Queen meets Stevie Wonder". The lyrics are about the characteristics of the fruit of the spirit. Starting at the End of the Road - "I want to live forever, I want to go on loving and giving". A clever poem about how we focus on the now, and don't want to go before what we believe is "our time". We tend to want to pack in a lot before we go, but we are really beginning our great journey AFTER we are gone from this planet. **** (out of five) An ecclectic, melodic, strongly written and performed CD!
