Product Notes

Krucial Styles brings a variety of reality-based lyrics, along with some hard-hitting beats in this debut album "Outta Control" His deliverance is passionate and his flows have a swagger and style that switches from the West Coast to East Coast to the South and back. There is something for everyone in this album. The not so typical, white boy from the hood that can go up against the best of the best. Krucial Styles, born Chris Thomson, and raised in Inglewood, California. He has always had a passion for music and writing. 'Outta Control' is his first solo album and it is already recieving great feed back from the streets. The track Outta Control which his brother Cameron sings the hook has just blown people away with it's professional style. Krucial uses his writing to overcome his struggles and pain from unfortunate circumstances that have occurred through out his life. He is very spiritual and believes that he has a purpose in life to fullfil through his talent. His goal in writing is to get out of his own head and that whatever comes out will in some way touch and help someone else going through some of the same struggles. Beyond that his main focus is to continue writing, recording and performing and make a presence that will get him noticed by major record companies and onto negotiations for a major recording contract. His parents came from Glasgow Scotland and were raised in public housing, they worked hard and saved to buy a house so they wouldn't have to worry about landlord's rental restrictions, or become a burden to anyone. When they had an opportunity to buy a house the only place they could afford at the time was Inglewood, but at least they weren't paying someone else's mortgage, this was their investment. Growing up as a minority in Inglewood, California a mostly Black and Hispanic community has had it's challenges. Chris and his brother Cameron were sent to schools outside the neighborhood for fear that they would be bullied, get in fights, get involved in drugs or gangs, or worse be shot just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time wearing the wrong colors. This turned out to be another challenge and led them both to looking for ways to fit in acting one way during the school hours and another when the came home to their neighborhood friends. Neither of them could really fit in on either side of the tracks during this time. Eventually they would get expelled for something silly because they were on a permit, or get found out that they did not live in the area and be sent back to the district school of residence, which was Monroe for middle school, and Morningside for high school. However they both grew to love their hometown and feel that it is closer to the ideals of where their parents grew up. Maybe that's why their parents never left, when everyone was saying, why would you live in Inglewood you are white. It is sad that people are judged by the color of their skin, or by where they live, or by how much money they have etc. All anyone is trying to do is live life on life's terms and be successful at doing it. Krucial loves Inglewood, and says "It has the realities of life that a lot of upper middle class kids don't get to experience" and that he believes life is just one big experience good or bad, and it's a shame to miss out on any of it. His dad chose to miss out on the rest of his, by taking his life Dec 30, 2004, which was also the date of his birth. He shot himself in the head with a 9-millimeter, while both his boys were at home. This was a tremendous tragedy but today He is writing and performing his way out of the pain. He started writing lyrics and rapping in middle school, and high school as a way of getting attention and rebelling against the system while in El Segundo schools. He has always been a bit of a rebel, hyper active, talkative, and always wanting to do something and while doing one thing would be looking for something else to do. It is only due to his passion for his music that he has not gotten into serious trouble. He has contemplated suicide in the past, but since the passing of his dad, has a much deeper respect for life. He believes we all have a purpose here and his is to speak his words. He believes strongly that his talents are going to take him to the top, and he is anxious and hungry to get their, not for the love of money, but for the spiritual feeling that is has to be done, and done soon. He has been deeply inspired by the lyrics that Tupac, and Biggie, wrote and the inspiration and friendship that Eminem received from Proof. It is sad that some of the best die so young. He relates to many of the struggles that Eminem faced in the beginning of his career being a white boy from the hood. He appreciates and respects so many great rap artists for their skills, and dedication to the game. Most of all He is inspired by the streets he grew up on, and his drive to make it. In one of his songs he talks about not wanting to end up like his father, committing suicide and not telling anybody why, he is much smarter much wiser. He is grateful to have such a strong loving mom that has supported him and his brother to go after their dreams to do it with a passion. His dad did not die in vain, for if he were still alive he would not have had the opportunity to be putting out his first album at such a young age, and he is already working on a second album to be released by the summer 2007. He says, "I miss my dad, but know that he is watching me, and knows that I am going to make it, he told me on the morning before he killed himself while he hugged me, you will be ok, and I love you" "At the time I was confused by the way he said it, but now I understand" !
