Product Notes

A native to Houston, Texas, Lacour was born Damon Lacour Wattell, March 19, 1977. With the encouragements from his musically skilled father, Lacour remained active in talent shows as well as athletics throughout his school years. Influenced by the burgeoning '80s and early '90s rap scene, Lacour began rapping at the age of 9. From a very young age, Lacour had a strong desire to perform and was destined to shine. Lacour began his career as a member of a group called Unda Boss. After several years with this group, he envisioned the prospects of a better future by pursuing a solo career. With his prophetic and prolific style, Lacour goes against the normal southern hip-hop sound, producing a unique style all his own. With musical influences from Rakim, Nas, LL Cool J, Method Man, and The Notorious B.I.G, this vision of a better future will soon come to light. Lacour performed for several "Carmona Custom Car Shows" in Houston, Texas. He also showed off his unique talent at several of Houston's urban night clubs. Recently, Lacour headlined a show hosted by Power 97.5 at the Emancipation Park in Houston. In addition, he performed for BET's comedy showcase, as well as performing opening acts for Mystical, Juvenile, Ice Cube, and Big Moe. Lacour's mind provoking single "Food for Thought" was featured on the Deadly Wordz Soundtrack. He was the only rap artist featured on this compilation of original, neo-soul, r&b, and poetry. Lacour is indeed making things happen and he is on a journey to ultimate success. Lacour's ambition is to manage his own independent record label and production company. Additionally, he plans to provide mentoring and training to the youth, helping them develop their artistic talents. Through his own non-profit organization, Lacour desires to teach others the skills needed to become successful entrepreneurs in today's music industry. Recording a host of self-written and self-produced material, Lacour will soon sign to a record label that recognizes his rare talent and supports his strive for success and personal growth. Today, while working full time and supporting his family, he is a member of the Masonic Lodge. Lacour continues to remain positive and spiritually focused. His powerful and diverse lyrics, fueled by his high energy and electrifying beats, Lacour is certain to be embraced by all.
