~ Like Trees Walking(Duplicated CD)
'the fatima dance' is about love and time and place. And like dance itself, love is a mystery of movement. The anchor, though, is personal history: perceived or real. And the long ago faded local annual 'fatima dance' is just such a place for me. i hope you enjoy my musical reflections. Like Trees Walking ~ 'your music reminds me of sunday afternoons spent tinkering about on an old piano at my friend's sister's house, a long, long time ago... tentative notes, long silences... chords ring on... i like it very much... un-technical in the best possible way, and well recorded...' M. 'i do listen to your music a lot of the time... just before i go to bed, it really helps me chill out and unwind... kinda inspiring as well... i crave that in music... you have a way with the piano that is very deep and emotional...' R. ~ the fatima dance a poem by Like Trees Walking i wish there was again this fatima dance which we could crash, streamers and balloons, and a very bad dj playing songs we could all love, and of course secretly did, too. Abba and the Jackson five. ^#^children laughing, weaving in and out of the old people, with contained unleashed joy. a bar at the side bursting full of old immigrant men, talking. ^#^young people dancing with only some restraint as mothers and grandmothers plotted loving futures for those they raised. The old priest and the young priest praying only with contentment on this hot, hot summer night. ^#^it would be this way, almost by design, inside the church hall. ^#^but cool just one step outside the doors leading to the full parking lot. ^#^stars in the black sky. ^#^small glass bottles of coca-cola our respite. ^#^us holding hands. ^#^looking. and we would smile at it all like this is exactly as it should be. Always. The annual fatima dance.
