Sonically, this is what Hip Hop has been missing. With his 3rd full length album, Triknology, Loki Da Trixta brings passion back to the mic. It's refreshing to hear an emcee who approaches the craft of rhyming so professionally. The lyrics are conscious and creative, serious and sometimes silly. Triknology is a testament to our highly connected digital world. The beats combine cutting edge sounds and production techniques with a salute to classic jazz, funk and soul. The album starts slow and silky gradually revving up in intensity and finishing with a flurry. The album progresses so smoothly one would never guess that the music is a collaboration of 7 different producers from 3 different continents. Loki is a Brooklyn born emcee adept at rocking any crowd. In minutes it will be obvious to any observer that Loki has 'it', that special charisma which exists in all great performers. As a child growing up in New York City Loki showed an affinity for music, dance, theater and almost any book he could get his hands on. As a teen he attended Stuvyesant High School, where, despite his inital tendancy to cut class, he eventully developed the tireless work ethic necessary to sustain himself an an independent musician and artist. Later, Loki attended University at Buffalo where he hooked up with a slew of like-minded heads and helped to start the Baby Steps Hip Hop collective. He also linked with the fledgling DeepThinka Records and recorded his first LP Mythology. Loki's last album Geography made waves with underground Hip Hop heads and continues to be listed on many college and internet radio playlists. The Latin crossover hit Spanglish has been played at parties from Croatia to Chile to Chicago. Geography has a truly international feel with lyrics in French, Spanish, Arabic, Ga (A west African dialect) and shout outs in Dutch, Chinese, Armenian and many other tongues. Triknology picks us where Geography left us commenting on everything from politics to music to religion. Loki is a truly innovative artist pushing the genre of Hip Hop into new realms, Triknology does not disappoint. Reccomended spins from Triknology are Where Ya At?
