If there is anything that characterizes this self-educated multi-instrumentalist is the ability to integrate into the most varied musical trends. Has been part of groups as diverse as AFRIK TAMA and AFRIK KUNTAK (two bands based on rhythms and melodies of Senegal and Sierra Leone where he was the percussionist SEIDU). AL-MANSUR: music of ancient Persia (Iran-Iraq). Groups of Brazilian music (Djavad, M. Nascimento, music Northeast) as URUBÚ and Bata-Kum-TUM. With CHILDREN OF THE CARIBBEAN and MERENSALSA entered the world of Caribbean music. The most notable collaborations with musicians from blues musicians have been with Americans TIM HUDGES and RICHARD RAY FARREL, the French guitarist AMAR SUNDY and with the legendary guitarist from Malaga in LITO BLUES BAND. Has performed with singers such as J.A.MURIEL, JAVIER KRAHE and ANGEL PETISME (occasionally with,HILARIO CAMACHO, MANUEL COBOS and JAVIER RUIBAL). He also played with COOL Jerks, a soul group. Played with groups and soloists of pop and rock: BURNING,J. BOULEVARD MERCEDES FERRER or (occasionally, also with MIGUEL BOSÉ or ANA TORROJA). With ENRIQUE VALIÑO (group ELEMENTALES) formed a duo (violin, sax) in addition to working with BASILIO GEORGES: Flamenco Guitarist with which performed on it's way through Spain, in the same group were Valdi Camacho Cuban bassist and percussionist (founder of the group RADIO TARIFA) FAÍN DUEÑAS. He composed music for dance performance for the dancer MÓNICA VALENCIANO (Danza in Madrid) and for ANA CRISTIANI in the DANCE OF THE D. of BARCELONA AWARD. With the group U.H.F. (The Other Network) - founded by L. Azcona, based on his own compositions, participated in the XII INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL OF GETXO, receiving a special mention for 'originality and treatment of the arrangements.' He also participated in the NATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL II CONTEST and in the II TERUEL JAZZ FESTIVAL. In 1991, join the band that accompanies the pop group LA UNIÓN until the end of 92, when integrated into the group of MANOLO TENA to make the tour "Sangre Española" in 1994.In this year again turned with LA UNION and conducting the brass section. In late 1996 published his first solo album '1 +1 = 4' getting excellent reviews of press and radio being the best album of national jazz in the ABC (Paco Montes). In 1997 a tour with his band through Madrid, Andalusia, the Basque Country and Levante. In 2003, again turning to his group promoting it's second album 'BAJO LA PIEL' from 2003 to 2005, combines his own project with tours of LA UNION, MANOLO TENA, and MESTISAY CARLOS BECEIRO and with the Mexican singer ROXANA RÍO.2006 : Bertín Osborne.2007 and 2008 plays with the duo Andy & Lucas. Lorenzo Azcona´s music is full of descriptive passages, heavy grooves, moments of deep lyricism and colourful instrumentations. It takes you on a journey through the musics of the world. His strength and knowledge as a player creates a soulful, clear and personal language that makes you not only perceive his message but feel it. Obviously all these concepts show the strong personality that relies in each of his compositions makes his music difficult to classify yet easy to understand.
