Lyrical Sonz, a band that started from humble beginnings, started this journey back in 1999. Micah Ancheta of Oahu, and Stuart Nakai of Kauai, both met through mutual friends up in what most Hawaii folks are calling, 'The Ninth Island'. Las Vegas was where these two songwriters/musicians met and realized that there was some kind of chemistry between them. Backyard jam sessions quickly turned into on stage live performances all over the city. But as all young men do, Micah and Stuart had to follow their dreams and live their own lives, which unfortunately led them astray from their true calling. That of original composition and the potency of the written word all blending melodically together, made it possible for them to realize and accept their true potential, which was in fact, music. As the years passed and supposed 'friends' left their sides, Hawaii seemed to be calling to both of them for personal reasons. Shortly after moving home, Stuart in 2005 and Micah in 2006, the lines of communication started opening up and talks of making an album began. It started out slow at first, both tentative about the others' new talents, but eventually it led to intense songwriting and groovy melody arrangements. The next step was then to find the right producer that could bring out their sound, and that's when they met Wendel Ching. He had a great reputation and an excellent track record with numerous artists that he help create. It was the only logical step yet to be taken if an album was ever going to be done at the highest levels of musicianship. After months of creation, hours in the studio, and some dollars spent, an album that takes you on an epic trip of lyrics, vocal harmonies, and instrumentation, is born. It's produced by both the Lyrical Sonz and Wendel Ching, all 12 songs are originally composed by the Lyrical Sonz, and the island vibe they bring will have any island music lover standing up and dancing. Micah Ancheta and Stuart Nakai are the real thing and they are ready for the industry. The Lyrical Sonz can't wait to open their hearts to the people of Hawaii and to the people of the world. Aloha and God Bless!
