Beneath the name Mad Chickens hide four girls, four young women who were born in Avezzano and started this project back in 2004 with the intention of expressing their whole love for music, for grunge, noise, and punk in particular. Their mentors have been bands who traced basic lines of the history of these genres : Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Melvins, Marlene Kuntz and Verdena as well( the most valid representatives in the Italian background). The Mad Chickens begun as a cover band just to honour their reference models but the feel of testing their skills, bringing their style and a touch of femininity that this genre is lacking of in Italy, encouraged them to deal with music and lyrics autonomously. Between 2005 and 2006 after several changes of line up, occurred in the attempt of reaching an optimal balance, they recorded GOODBYE BUTTERFLY, a demo made of three tracks which captured the attention of Jinxy of the JESTRAI RECORDS who inserted it in "demos' listenings" on the label's website. After that, in 2007, Maria Teresa and Laura joined into the band (respectively as bassist and guitarist) the line up got definitive, the four girls composed new songs and came in contact with the producer LEANDRO PARTENZA of the LADY MUSIC RECORDS. From this collaboration was born an EP, recorded in august 2007 at the "animal house studio" in Ferrara and mastered at the "Red House Recording" in Ancona under the artistic management of Leandro Partenza. Meanwhile the band had several live experiences, such as the MUSIC VILLAGE an event which involves thousands musicians every year. Now the EP is definitely and these girls are ready to show their self to the real lovers of this music. Even if from a few time there is a boy (Carmine) keep the beat behind the drum the Mad Chickens now burst on the Italian musical scene for that grit that only Little-great women can take out of their self .
