This CD is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Big Kitchen Restaurant on Golden Hill in San Diego. These are tunes which we enjoy playing and improvizing on with our friends which were involved in compiling this endeavor. It was great fun!!! All of that practicing paid off! There is an ecclectic mix of music on this album. Between Harlem Nocturn (Earl Hagen), Straight no Spider (Straight no Chaser (T. Monk) with the Itsy Bitsy Spider thrown in), Misty (Errol Garner), You and I by Stevie Wonder and then Frailach #1 which is a Klezmer tune which you will recognize from Bar Mitzvah's you have attended. The rest are just as enjoyable. Lots of Sax and Violins involved!!I play alto, tenor and soprano, Floyd Fronius, my husband, plays Jazz, swing and ecclectic violin - very fun!, Berke McKelvey plays alto sax, clarinet, bass and piano. Mike Stewart plays guitar and engineered the whole CD. We spent from February through August editing 'Relatively Speaking'. It was an education and lots of fun. Dave Page on drums, Jeannie Reith singing Angel Eyes and Mark Daniscovsky on Accordian for Frailach #1.
