25% OF PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE ALZHEIMER SOCIETY So far almost $10,000 has been raised! Music is a key component in Mario Commisso's life. And it always has been. 37 years ago his father, Cosimo would drive Mario and his two younger brothers more than 200 kilometres to Thunder Bay for music lessons from their small hometown on the rugged north shore of Lake Superior. They would make this trip together every other Monday for more than 8 years. Now, the 49- year-old Mario is honouring his dad, the man who gave him music, by giving the music back. Cosimo, suffered from the effects of Alzheimer's disease for 15 years. Meanwhile, Mario has recorded a CD of his elegant and inspiring piano playing and dedicated it to his father. Featuring an exclusive selection of timeless favourites such as My Way, The Shadow of Your Smile and As Time Goes By, Mario's first album, entitled Reflections, is much more than a personal dream fulfilled. It's a powerfully emotional tribute to the sacrifice and dedication of a [selfless/loving] father. What's equally as powerful is Mario's steadfast commitment to donating $5 from the sale of each $20 CD to the Alzheimer Society. With more than 1800 CDs sold since August, 2004, Mario has given more than $8,000 to help support people living with Alzheimer's disease.
