Martin Huq is the Rock N'Roll lead singer that needs to be reckoned with in today's music industry. His original music is a twist Modern Rock with various sounds of pop and punk. Martin Huq is the former front man for the famous Lowell, MA/NYC based band, Cotton Mouth. He was the lead singer of that group in the late 1990's. Cotton Mouth released two full-length albums "Shady" and "We're Still Cotton Mouth". Their success was cut short by the year 2000 when the band broke up. Leaving Martin Huq with the choice of joining another group or going solo with his own vision, he looked inward and went forward with a solo career. He is now writing the music and the lyrics of all his own material. In the year 2002, a very limited pressing of a full length album was released by Martin Huq called "Rock Star or Bust". It was a lo-fi 4 track recording full of one takes recorded in basement studios thoughtout the Northeast of The U.S. Though, it was a stepping stone for his future as an artist. Some critics compared Martin Huq's "Rock Star Or Bust" to being his "Nebraska"-Bruce Springsteen. In 2003, he released a three song CD called "Each Hit". It is currently available for a listen and to purchase. This fall 2006 the long-awaited new CD "Driving All Night" will be released. Don't miss his new CD, it is being hailed by critics already as his best work yet. Having traveled the world and performed extensively, he is charismatic and unforgettable. His styles and backgrounds come through in his very diverse sense of music. Bringing songs to us with a mass appeal, it is hard to not hear these songs being played on the radio in your car, your stereo or television, or your boom box on the beach in the middle of summer 10 years from now. Martin Huq is something new, but not breaking any forefronts in music. He is the return of the great front man of Christmas past. His brand of Rock N'Roll has been lost and everyday we get further away from music writers that still perform music that inspires the listeners like you and me. He has been compared to Mick Jagger & Iggy Pop on stage and also in his sound. Some speak of The Cars, AC/DC, Bob Seger, The Rolling Stones and even Black Sabbath on a couple of the darker heavy tunes. All in all, Martin Huq is just good Rock N'Roll. There is positive energy strongly pushing through in the upbeat song of his "An All-American Tune" and even ballads like "Amelia Earhart". The ballads are of a poet, a troubadour striking the hearts of all who listen. What else do you need?, not much if you listen to Martin Huq.
