Martin Khouzam, who hails from Montreal, Canada is a singer/songwriter whose musical strength relies on a soulful acoustic sound and voice. The endearing simplicity in his songs is what has charmed countless people, a positive reaction which has encouraged him to dedicate himself fully to his music. Equally inspired by songwriters like John Lennon and Bob Dylan, as well as the attitude and angular sound of fellow contemporary musicians such as the White Stripes and Oasis, he has quickly made a name for himself in Osaka, Japan, where he currently resides. To describe him and his musical entourage would consume too much space, but what can be said briefly about him is that he loves what he does, is quick to make a joke and is ready to embrace everything that you're willing to throw his way. Altogether, he'll remind you to slow down the fast-paced life which you've been living, and let yourself be charmed by the beauty of the world that surrounds you. In the span of a little under 2 years, his profile never stopped rising, having played a slew of downtown Osaka music venues, which have ranged from his small beginnings to larger and more established venues in the city such as Namba Rockets, Sun Hall and Twice, where his talents as a songwriter were recognized and he was invited to perform live on a Kobe city radio station (MOOV 76.1 FM). After having written close to 30 songs in the span of these 2 years, he was invited to have a demo of some of his songs recorded and produced by renowned producer Masatsugu Kawai of mother of soul, an Osaka-based musical guru who has won an international award with his band at the Just Plain Folks awards ceremony in Los Angeles (Best Asian Album). The 7 songs was quickly picked up by Pengtrade Records, a Japanese independent label, and released in Japan under the title "Believe" in March 2006. And now many promotion live playing in a Montreal.
