Meghan Carr grew up in a home where music was a priority. She was exposed to all kinds of music and writing styles including that of Jude Cole, Tracy Chapman, Jewel, Paul Simon, Loudon Wainwright III, The Clancy Brothers, Peter Gabriel, Shawn Colvin, Billy Joel, Melissa Etheridge, and countless other fine song-crafters. Honing her guitar and vocal skills, Meghan performed occasionally with her parents (Ben & Maureen Carr) and contributed harmonies on her mom's 'Stones Unturned' album in 2005. It seemed inevitable that she would eventually write and record her own CD, 'Grounded'. The CD's 10 originals take the listener through a gamut of emotions, without being cliche or trite. The ballad 'Never Mine' may bring a sigh, but 'Missing Sock' will balance it with a laugh. 'Stand Up' is sure to evoke an emotional response, as will 'What Good is This?'. 'Seize the Day' will give hope and 'Awkward Silences' will never seem the same. Meghan Carr is off to a good start with this album; at least, she's 'Grounded'.
