Biography Of Men of Israel Mission Statement: The Men of Israel, primarily a male acappella group, extend their music ministry wherever they serve, in a spirit of humility, simplicity and sincerity. Men of Israel began their illustrious and successful ministry for Christ in 1997, at the Mt Sinai Seventh-day Adventist Church in Queens Village, New York. In the early stages the group promised to be a remarkable and successful ministry. The group began under the tenure of Pastor Ernie Wright and was founded and directed by Errol 'Jack' Martin. In 2001, recognizing the relationship between professionalism and success the group's leader Errol 'Jack' Martin contracted the help of Ms. Andrea D. Hicks, Manager and Mrs. Leisa Flynn, Assistant Manager. The dual soon gained the respect and admiration of the group. Men of Israel also known as MOI, have performed at many events and are the proud recipients of numerous prestigious awards and nominations including: performing their musical ministry at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Queens, New York in the presence of Hilary Clinton, participants of the 'Live' Broadcast of the Three Angels Broadcasting Network's (3ABN) Rally Day in Harlem, New York, in July 2002, this was the largest Rally in 3ABN's history, Nominated for Best Male Group at the McDonald's GospelFest 2002 Awards, which was televised on WABC, Featured artist for Dr. Donald G. King-former President of the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventist during his speaking engagements from 2001-2002 and nominated for Best Male Group at the Caribbean Music awards in June 2003. The Recording Group released their 1st CD 'We Come This Far By Faith' on April 14, 2002, at a Black Tie Dinner Show at the Astoria World Manor. The Men of Israel is acknowledged for their excellent music skills and collaborate a rapport with everyone they encounter. They are characterized by their Gospel Ministry colleagues as an extraordinary committed and responsive group. Referring to their extraordinary and reassuring music many individuals confirm it makes you think of Christ. The members of the Men of Israel are: Errol 'Jack' Martin-Leader (1st and 2nd Tenor), Roy Dehaney (2nd Tenor), Nelson Pilos (Baritone), Betram Braitwaithe (1st and 2nd Tenor), Charles 'George' Heron (Bass),Owen Romillie (Bass) and Basil Brown (1st and 2nd Tenor). The group has memberships at the Mount Sinai Seventh-day Adventist, Brooklyn Faith Seventh-day Adventist, Christian Fellowship Seventh-day Adventist, Kingsboro Temple and Goshen Seventh-day Adventist churches.
