Songs from 3 Cities Ending in y[CD]
Michael Thomas employs a rough, raw, sound that could only come from the spacious woodlands of the north. The heartbreaking, rustic quality that entails Michael's music is reminiscent of artists like Neil Young, and Bob Dylan, with a much broader range of influences such as Whiskeytown, Wilco and Hayden to name a few. Michael Thomas is a classically trained musician, which becomes evident when listening to some of the arrangements on this album featuring trumpet, accordion, and recorder. Mixed with Michael's melodic harmonica playing, and guitar strumming and fingerpickin', the final result is an unpretentious album full of variety, colour, and earthy simplicity that is very unique. If you have an open mind, and appreciate music for the sound of it, you will love Michael Thomas.
