I was about twenty when I left Washington State for Montana where I wound up in the Missoula City Band playing trumpet. I think we were to get about two dollars per concert. One night, a man visiting me jumped up and sat on my kitchen counter with an old Silvertone guitar and sang \'From A Jack To A King\'. I was bitten with the country bug. I traded my trumpet for a cheap Stella guitar. I was shown three chords (which I am still working on), and have been at it ever since. Some of the songs I have written have been done by other artists and some have gotten a little air play. I write songs that lean toward country. But I have a variety of music that just about anyone can find something they wouldn\'t mind listening to. I have been at this for quite awhile now, because I love it. Thanks for listening. Mike West.
