When the original members (Chapin West, and Michael James originaly 'Page Two')decided to go into the studio to record their original works for posterity, were struck with the idea of including those musician friends whom they played music with, back and forth throughout the years. This parlayed into the idea behind the name, 'Midnight Crossing'. The 'midnight' difinition is representative of the meditative 'hour' of thought, as most people find themselves at a creative high point in the wee hours of the morning. Especially, musicians, dancers, artists, and the like. The 'crossing' represents the crossing over of ideas and creativity (from many influences of music) each member contributes to the overall composition of originality. The contribution of sounds and resulting 'syncronicity' is generated by the combined efforts of each musician allowed to express their feelings of interpretation. Along with that, is what we consider an important 'bridge' ('scuse the pun!) which spans the effect of our music. That is, it must be enjoyable! Without the enjoyment in playing music, then why do it? To our own standards. All the members: Michael/guitar/vocals; Chapin/guitar/vocals; Scott/keyboards/vocals; Julian/Bass (standard guitar); and last, but definitely not least; Tony/drums/vocals, share a brotherhood with each other, and the community. Each concert we do, a portion of proceeds is dedicated to a local community project. So are our CD sales. Without community, what importance do we carry? I know you will enjoy this CD, with a refreshing feel to the 'americana' genre we are trying to express!
