Product Notes

Here's what the press has to say about The Mighty Stars: Press: 'The EP has a fine set of melodies and guitars, and in one case Let's Play even has a Gold Blade-style call-response over it's chunky guitars. All in all a nice diversion from the angst ridden indierock of late, as this is a mighty damn fine sunny day soundtrack.' -- ireallylovemusic. Co.UK Sometimes big things come in small packages, and this 5 song EP from Bristol, England's Mighty Stars is a prime example. This is pure garage punk, with a righteous nod to the mods of the late '60s and early '70s. There is just the right touch of energized pop, keeping the songs catchy and bright while maintaining an air of cool aggression. They start off the EP with the bouncing Small Wonder, which is simple but smartly done. They jump right into Let's Play in full punk mode, only to go a little softer with the jangling guitars of Suzanne. The group rounds out the disc with the sticky sweet garage pop of Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!, a song that is delivered in a brilliantly sloppy fashion, rambling along with just the right amount of raw power. - Mish Mash The Mighty Stars are a really nice surprise - great and catchy garage teen pop. Let's Play has a touch of rock'n'roll and I love it. Suzanne is slower and more indie/power pop-it is really nice with a great chorus that will hang in your ear. There is something about this band that gets into you and you must love them. I can't wait to hear more!! - No Brains The Mighty Stars, y'see, make a joyful, dumb-ass, testosterone-flavoured, goofily adolescent girl-obsessed racket. They're part-Undertones, part-Buzzcocks-and, as a panacea to the doom and gloom of the present day, all fabulous. - Venue This is the best Garage Pop I've heard in a while. Ok...there are only five songs on this CD, but it's definitely worth a closer listen. This is happy music...imagine the Housemartins would go Punk. - Daredevil Magazine The Mighty Stars are four young types from Bristol who make great garage teen pop. Every single song of their...EP is worth hearing. The band understands how to bring their love of pop music across to the listener. It will be worthwhile keeping an eye on the Mighty Stars as we think they are on the up. - Britpoparsenal. De By the time it's all over, I find myself automatically hitting repeat. Three times. And singing along to the choruses really loud. I find them completely irresistable, because underneath the half-inched riffs and improbable naivety, lies a genuine love of pop music and a talent for making anyone who listens to them feel the same way. -- Choke.
