In his second CD, containing all original material, Pittsburgh native Mitchell Howard leaps easily from ballads to the blues, inviting us on an intimate journey that explores the highs and lows and the fragility of life. It is a journey well worth taking. It is a risk to release a CD of original music, after (his previous) CD containing hits from music's famous performers. But, we are glad Mitchell took that risk, particularly because he sings his own music even better than he sings other's music. "So Cold" demonstrates that Mitchell has the power to sing Phil Collins-type pop music â?? and sing it well, while "I Wonder" feigns a James Taylor style and presents a depth of talent that continued to make us smile. "Room 2 Breathe" is also a standout. We think "Too Tired To Cry" is the best song on the CD. First, it is plainly a joy to listen to and it show's Mitchell's talent in whole new way. And the new is for Newman, as in Randy. - PlanetQ.
