Searching for their personal sound and style, the musicians evolve together, on a personal level as well as musically. Influenced by an American Pop-Rock culture, guitars up-front unravelling their warm and catchy sonorities. Music following the lyrics reminding of « daily memories, album of souvenirs ». MotherKingdom affects, disturbs and questions. The music takes you on a journey that shatters all preconceived ideas. Didier is one of those singers that pours out his heart and delivers his personal feelings. Rhythmically connected and precise, Eric and Olivier lay out solid grounds upon which Laurent gently either rubs or abuses his guitar. Such are the elements entailed in MotherKingdom's distilled rock. Promoted master in alternating aggressive and peaceful moods, MK takes the bet to create a rich and fruitful picture, contrasted and heterogeneous. A constellation of sonic and visual ambiances where the rage is never far from quiet; shadows from brisk light. It is really tough to stay away. In between catchy melodies and dissonant chords, MotherKingdom doesn't need to choose: just stay true. On stage Intimacy and passion of all band members translate in a great feeling of connection. It is on stage that MK excels. The line-up grants all credits of their maturity to the audience. Each show is a new opportunity to dive in a different atmosphere. With more than 150 shows throughout Europe (Germany, England, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Slovenia and Switzerland) MotherKingdom makes of it's fan base it's reason of being. All it comes back to is: « MotherKingdom rocks the house with every chord, powerful enough for the Rock audience, melodic enough for all Pop fans ». Onstage as well, MK stands out by alternating aggressive mood swings and quiet moments suggesting an electric set, where shattered and revolting ambiances prevail or an acoustic set where peaceful and melancholy strips out MK in the day light, MK revised it's own repertory. Sleeping Subway After two EP and strong stage experience all over Europe, MK stops in 2003 to concentrate on the recording of their first album "Sleeping Subway". With definite rock tracks (Broken, Andy, Passenger, Missing, Slave), MK visits another pop universe (Shore, Evening, 15 min. Late), or experiments with electronics (Machine TV). MotherKingdom flows with talent throughout 11 tracks, being neither shy nor scared.
