Molina was founded by brothers Pedro and Ramon Matanzo during the summer of 2004, in Milwaukee, WI. After a successful year of shows in the land of cheese and beer, these two children of the light decided to return home, Puerto Rico, in order to dedicate themselves fully to the rockandroll experience. In the island they coincided with Servando Echandia, long time high school and jamming friend, who had just arrived in from Campbell' Soup state, New Jersey. Afterwards, during the summer of 2005, the guys met up with drummer Charlie Bimbela. Charlie Charles, or Charmin' Charlie, as they graciously call him, got rescued from the school, soccer, fun, and party life, and was brung to taste life as a musician! Sweattin' our shirts with sweetness! Dippin' all ears in solid drummin', deep-and-funky bass lines, thick on thick guitar riffs, and sense and non-sense watery mouth lyrics. Molina, today, is one of Puerto Rico's most dignifying rokanrol bands. Their debut album, Nacion Molina, (Molination) brings it's freshness from the late seventies classic retro-rock vibe. Nevertheless, the garage, new wave, and college rock sounds make this contemporary masterpiece a truly agressive expreession of rock art. Their promotional single 'Superhola' manifests energy, stamina, chemistry and flow in soul, mind, body, and everything in between. 'Rockandfun', 'don't fight it, embrace it', and 'let's dance!!!!', are some of the bands mild philosophies. .... f***androll. .....BTW, they like to live up to the latter. Molina translates the windmill (Sp.molino) sensation into an explosion of arts, sound and lyrics. 'Un elogio a la locura' -Erasmus, and 'artesanos del sonido', or 'in praise of folly' -Erasmus, and 'sound craftmen' are analogous and comfortable statements which the band itself has approved greatly. Greetings and enjoy!
