Emerging straight out of Youngstown, Ohio, rapper Nate Sylak's music is a formidable and unique addition to the world of hip hop and rap, both in it's production and lyrical content, and in Sylak's versatility and energy as a performer. In the fall of 2007, Sylak visited Los Angeles and was introduced to J. Dansack of J. Dansack Productions, with whom he began his debut album, The Show. Dansack, also a member of the hip hop/rap production duo, The Trailz, had been searching for an artist worthy of a production deal for some time. Dansack immediately recognized Sylak's talent, and shortly after the two began writing and recording, utilizing the creative energy they both shared. Eventually, a production deal was signed, songs were tracked, and before long a record was completed. Released by J. Dansack productions and produced by J. and Rocdusa of The Trailz, Sylak's completed EP, The Show, is a six song independent blast of quick wit and linguistic acrobatics. Showcasing a level of intellectual depth and lyrical craftiness unique from the majority of today's commercial and underground hip-hop artists, Nate's strong yet balanced music is influenced by an eclectic array of artists, namely, Nas, Das Efx, the Pharcyde, Wu Tang, Outkast and A Tribe Called Quest. The Show's release has come with a momentous wave of CD sales and downloads, along with the tremendous support of thousands of fans through Nate's Myspace pages. The Show was also picked up by local and regional record stores for distribution, and was most recently featured on the hit CBS television series Numb3rs, in which Sylak's catchy song, Locomotive (Bringin' the Pain), rhythmically intensified the episode that featured the rap group, Three 6 Mafia. For Nate, the release of his first CD is only the tip of a very large iceberg. Always mindful of his roots and what hip hop has given him, Nate is anxious to record and perform as often as possible as a gesture of thanks to the very same community of musicians and artists that inspired him. Expect many more songs and albums from this new, innovative artist, as he is already creating music above and beyond what this world has experienced.
