Nervous Wrecked is the moniker under which southern Ontarian musician Matthew Davey projects his solo song writing music. Originally started as a personal creative side project from his typically louder and more aggressive bands, Davey manning all duties through the use of a microphone, guitar, keyboard and drum loops, Nervous Wrecked can now be seen playing the local circuit and promoting their 2009 LP 'SNAKES' as a solidified band. Nervous Wrecked found their sonic home somewhere between the raw and poignant singer-songwriter composition, and eclectic and infectious programmed instrumentation, obscuring their intelligent electric-folk styling in a sound one would find accessibly modern yet difficult to pigeon hole. At times stripped-down, at other times complex, Nervous Wrecked navigates tenaciously through effective melodic sensibilities and honest words. Davey's voice moves from a hushed whisper to an anxious falsetto to match the emotional urgency his songs convey. Whether acoustic folk or electronic neo-rock is your musical cup of tea, Nervous Wrecked brings together a collage of both, and the spectrum between, creating something new without getting lost along the way.
