Oedipus Wrecks is the combination of the creative talents of Brett Fox and Ken Worsham. Brett & Ken first met in the early 90's on a trip from Raleigh, N. C. to New Orleans. They discovered a common interest in music as well as a shared view of the world. When they returned to Raleigh, Brett invited Ken to join him in a group that he was forming, The Big Mad Poets. Brett and long time friend Hank Hunt were the nucleus of the Poets and were looking for other musicians to join them. Over the next several years (and a number of member shuffles), the Poets performed in a variety of coffee houses and outdoor festivals in the Raleigh area. Due to changes in life situations and people leaving the area, the Poets went their separate ways, but Brett and Ken continued to trade musical ideas. Oedipus Wrecks was formed to bring new life to some of the Poets original songs as well as give Brett and Ken a vehicle to continue growing and developing musically. The material on the current release 'Buried Talents' is a combination of new arrangements of songs that date to the earliest days of The Big Mad Poets and newer material written just for this release. Brett hails originally from Ohio and Ken is a native North Carolinian, and they share musical interests along the lines of The Grateful Dead, Neil Young, The Indigo Girls, and Bob Dylan. The tracks comprising 'Buried Talents' pushed them in new directions in terms of composition, arrangement, and musicianship. Now that they have brought this project to completion, they are already at work on new material.
