Once upon a time, singer, songwriter Pateh had a band named Bast. Like many bands, it disolved over egos and personality conflicts. Then one day about two years ago Pateh asked longtime friend, fluteplayer Linda, to come over and jam. She brought along percussionist, Kendo, and Spirit Walker to play bass,(borrowed from former Bast member, Gem) and soon the second incarnation of Bast was formed. Bast has been gigging all over north Florida, playing new age coffeehouses and restaurants, and doing benefit concerts, such as Save the Suwannee, various hempfests, etc. Soon thereafter Spirit Walker left to wander the Rainbow trail. Bereft of a bassist, Linda attempted to fill the slots of flautist, and bass player, and back-up vocalist, albeit not too succcessfully. One day during rehearsal, 16yr old son, Cory, wandered by and Linda showed him a few licks on bass, and now he's a permanent member, and driving force. (He's got an amazing ear and is very creative and intuitive, with a sophistication far beyond his years) We recorded our CD, Omni Bast at a UF engineering student's condo, at the turn of the millenium, Dec-Jan 2000. We believe in taking charge of our own destiny. We burn our own CDs and promotion, and pictures etc. Please come visit our web site. It's still under construction as our budget allows, but I think you'll enjoy it. Peace and Love to all, Bast.
