One Eyed Cat is the brainchild and ongoing passion of Dwight Powell and several musicians around Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Dwight grew up in the sixties and played music in his own rock band from 1965 to 1969 and successive bands from country to rock, ever since. You might even hear a little bit of his sixties influence in songs like Little Girls and Boys and Keep On Boomin\'. Dwight sites such artists as Ian Tyson, The Eagles, Alabama, George Strait, The Beatles and the Rolling Stones as early influences but today says he likes music from all genres. He has always played around with poetry and a dab of songwriting, but this album features 6 songs he either wrote or co-wrote. While pretty new at full fledged writing, he quite enjoys the process and has several more tunes in the works. You might consider this album as a learning experience for Dwight and the other members of One Eyed Cat, but we hope not the last foray into the wonderful world of songwriting and performing.
