I've been playing guitar since I was in high school. I have seven guitars. My father was a piano tuner so keyboards have always been a part of my life. And to make life even more interesting, it was not uncommon to come into my house to find a group playing big band music in the living room. When I was in college I saw a documentary on Lightning Hopkins and I stayed up all night learning as many licks as I could remember. My influences include, but are not limited to: The Beatles, Louis Armstrong, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, James Taylor, Los Lobos, Randy Newman, Carl Perkins, and basically everyone at Woodstock except Sha-Na-Na.
