In a recording career which began in 1956 and continues to this day, Canadian-born singer/songwriter Paul Anka has registered 54 Top 100 chart entries in the US alone between 1957 and 1984. In the UK, he had 17 hits from 1957 to 1974, toured extensively, and was hugely popular in Germany and Italy throughout the 1960s. This compilation gathers together all of Anka's biggest 'Teen Idol' hits from the Rock 'n' Roll era including the international million-seller 'Diana' and 'Lonely Boy', the latter his biggest-selling US disc. More than just a pretty face and a pompadour, Anka wrote many of his own songs and also composed hits for contemporary artists such as Buddy Holly and Connie Francis. Among the gems on offer are 'Diana', 'I Love You Baby', 'Crazy Love', 'Let the Bells Keep Ringing', '(All of a Sudden) My Heart Sings', 'Put Your Head on My Shoulder', 'It's Time to Cry', 'My Home Town', 'Summer's Gone', 'The Story of My Love', 'Love Me Warm And Tender' and 'A Steel Guitar And a Glass of Wine'.
