Arizona native and musician, Peter Daniel, has cut his long-anticipated self titled CD, his first solo effort after years of collaboration with other artists. PD began his craft at the age of 12, initially inspired by his older brother who suggested PD learn to play the guitar with hopes of one day forming a band together. PD however, quickly turned his interests to the bass guitar after falling under the spells of Steve Harris from Iron Maiden and his rattling, aggressive bass style. From there his influences shifted to more bass driven sounds and by the age of 18, he was an accomplished bassist. It was then that he began to gravitate back towards the guitar with aspirations of honing the craft of songwriting, which he is best known for today. At age 20, his brother's dream came to fruition as they collaborated to form their first band titled The Reason. He and his brother next formed Nice New Outfit where the two of them gripped the Tempe music scene. Later PD ventured out on his own to join Chula Hoop, a Madison Wisconsin band who came to Tempe seeking opportunity. Chula Hoop was an invaluable experience for PD as it was the first band in which he did not share lead vocal responsibilities. In that role, PD grew into a solid performer, entertainer and front man while continuing to refine his sound and writing skills. PD can currently be found opening shows, playing happy hours and as the surprise guest at open mics in Arizona and California. His debut recording is filled with strains of somber guitar melodies coupled with encouraging lyrics and yet lends the contrast of upbeat guitar sounds showcasing lyrics of personal torment. Some of PD's lyrics carry a spiritual element with the intent of grabbing the attention of the non-believer. "The words are not meant to be sound Christian theology, says Peter Daniel, but rather designed to have universal appeal in uniting people with God, similar to the way that Bob Marley was able to do so". Strongly influenced by Marley, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Cake, Beck and Norah Jones, his music displays an unusual depth for a varied musical palette. His sound resonates with the most steadfast of music fans with a critical ear, traipsing over lines of folk, R&B and alt rock.
