I grew up in Europe, Latin America, and particularly in Australia. In more recent years I lived in Africa, Latin America, Switzerland and the USA raising a family and working on food production, poverty and environment. I now concentrate on these issues in mountains around the world. Writing songs has been a way to make emotional sense of the world and life. I have done this since my late teens. Major early influences include poets and singers of the 60s and 70s, from Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Simon and Garfunkel, James Taylor to the Beatles; Latin American folk singers, such as Mercedes Sosa, Inti-Illimani and Paulo Milanes; and by way of Australian folk to Celtic bands like Planxty. Although new music and poetry constantly change ones own expression, these early musical influences have left their mark. This album brings together music about a journey that is both personal and I think also universal. The album receved contributions from great musicians like Grammy Award Winner, Joanie Madden on Irish whistle and flute, guitar virtuosos Jim Kimball and Walter Strauss, percussionist Eric Darken, renowned cellist Hank Roberts, and base player Doug Robinson with beautiful vocal backing from Annie Burns of the Burns Sisters Band. The CD has Celtic, folk-pop, and blues styles interlaced with harmonies. The final sound I hope will touch your soul as well.
